FAQ
Short answers.
Is it really free?
Yes. The booth software is free on one booth, with no card: capture, print, strips, GIFs and offline delivery. A free event costs nothing. The platform fee is 15% of guest payments on the free plan and 5% on Solo or Fleet. Remote access, a hosted booking website and backups come with Solo ($49 a booth) or Fleet ($39 a booth for two or more).
What camera should I use?
Use a plug-and-play USB webcam. We recommend a 4K low-light one for reliability: there's less to go wrong in the middle of an event. We don't support DSLR cameras, because a USB webcam is more reliable at an event. We'll be selling the webcam we test with here soon.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Capture and printing work with no internet at all. Emails queue up and send when the booth reconnects.
How do payments and fees work?
Customers pay on your booking website: a deposit or the full price, by card through Stripe, and the money goes to your own Stripe account. The platform fee applies to every guest payment taken through BoothFleet: 15% on the free plan and 5% on Solo or Fleet. Today that means payments on your booking website. Payments at the booth are still in development, and they will carry the same fee when they launch.
